SPIRIT DEPLOYS EMBROSS VELOCITYONE KIOSK PLATFORM AND NEXT GENERATION CHECK IN APPLICATION ACROSS NETWORK

Today, Spirit Airlines announced its systemwide rollout of new Embross VELOCITYone (V1) Kiosks with next generation check in application as part of its latest self service refresh program.

The program will oversee 200 Embross V1 kiosks  deployed across 35 locations in the Spirit network. All kiosks feature Embross’ new Aurora Check in application framework, developed to deliver unparalleled passenger self service capability and flexibility to airlines and airports.  

Custom silk-screened with Spirit’s logo and signature yellow, the kiosks and software are supported and maintained by the Embross national support team network. The VELOCITYone kiosk and application platform introduce a range of new capabilities and efficiencies in both the delivery and management of service operations.

The new platform also features a market-leading interface for accessible use in compliance with DOT regulations supporting all passengers. Wheelchair height-compliant interfaces, accessibility keypads, and other design elements are partnered with application-based multi-lingual and text-to-voice features across each application screen to enable use by those with visual impairments.

This Embross deployment is part of Spirit’s ongoing initiative to improve passenger processing experience, drive revenue, and achieve greater efficiency in its service operation while introducing new customer self-service incentives such as self-tagging for checked bags. The V1 kiosks offer:

– Faster check-in transaction times
– Overweight baggage collection
– Audio-guided transactions in English and Spanish for visually impaired
– Boarding pass barcode scanning for reservation search
– Customer email address collection for flight updates such as gate changes
