TORONTO, CANADA – MAY 23, 2023 –Embross North America Ltd., a global leader in passenger self-service technology, today announced it has completed the scale deployment of the VelocityOne (V1) kiosks with Finnish airport operator, Finavia, the organization responsible for managing and developing 20 airports across Finland. The latest deployment includes 70+ V1 kiosks at Helsinki Airport’s new Terminal. The total number of kiosks across Finavia’s airports is more than 150. The Embross CUSS is deployed by airports to deliver self-service check-in capability for multiple airlines on a single kiosk.

In 2020, Finavia announced its partnership with Embross to deliver the latest generation passenger self-service solutions across its network, beginning with its flagship Helsinki hub. The latest deployments are another milestone in the continued partnership between Finavia and Embross.

As part of the project scope, Embross has delivered its leading VELOCITYtag (V-Tag), an ultra-compact, express self-bag tagging kiosk designed for fast, touch-free interaction for web or mobile checked in passengers. In addition, both parties will also collaborate to optimize Embross’ kiosk management solution, Spectrum, which is being delivered as a cloud-based service. Spectrum provides users a complete operations center for monitoring and managing their portfolio of Embross technology products including kiosks, self-bag drops and e-Gates.

In addition, Finavia has engaged with airlines to use the Embross white label Fast Tag Application. By developing this process and service, Finavia can make travelling smoother at its airports. The Embross Fast Tag application allows passengers to scan their mobile or web issued boarding pass on the VTag kiosk and immediately prints associated Bag Tags. Complementing traditional self-service check in, the Fast Tag application is designed to be used as a fast and minimal interaction for passengers that have already checked in via web or mobile channels but only need to print their bag tag.

The work will continue in Q3 and Q4 with the deployment of additional Embross V-Tag’s, helping to capture real-time passenger data while facilitating the integration and control of various airport systems.
