Embross is proud to announce today, its partnership with Delta Airlines and NEC in launching the first biometric terminal in the United States at Atlanta’s Hartfield-Jackson Airport.
The terminal project, expected to launch by the end of 2018 in Terminal F, will allow international passengers, for the first time, to use facial recognition technology from check in through to boarding, simplifying the passenger airport experience.
As part of the project, Embross will be deploying its custom Delta VelocityOne (V1) Check In kiosks equipped with biometric camera systems, enabling passengers to retrieve their reservation through facial recognition. Working with NEC, international passengers’ faces are matched to the US CBP’s APIS database and reservations retrieved without the need to manually search for your reservation.
The biometric touchpoints will provide a seamless, end-to-end experience using facial recognition technology which allows passengers to:
- Check in at self-service kiosks
- Check in their luggage at self-service bag drops
- Identify at TSA checkpoints
- Board a flight at any gate in Terminal F
- And go through CBP processing for international travelers arriving into the U.S.
Passengers traveling with Aeromexico, Air France-KLM, or Virgin Atlantic airways from Terminal F will also be able to use this technology as part of Delta’s global network of partners.
